The Hanson Family Experiment this summer was a garden and boy oh boy was it FUN!!!! We tilled up some land with our neighbors(their son, Noah, and Veronica are in a picture in the garden together) for a joint garden and have grand plans for expansions next year!!!
I was definitely the 'idea girl' on this project and Bryan was the 'do'er':) I came up with the idea but was very nervous about executing it...I have no idea how to plant a garden! Bry stepped up to the plate and did the research and got input from Grandma Grace and Nana! We planted beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, onions, beets, red peppers, and pumpkins!
Our garden grew beautifully over the summer! We absolutely loved picking fresh beans and tomatoes daily to dip in hummus! And it was fun to be preparing dinner and realize you needed an onion and head right down to the garden to get it!
Everything took...except our carrots...they actually took a little too well. We had too mnay of them which stunted their ability to grow because they were too crowded so they were minature size carrots!
We're winding down the 'garden season' watching our pumpkins grow! How wonderful! This is the start of a wonderful family tradition! I cannot even express how much I loved watching our garden grow and flourish! I highly recommend a family garden to everyone!!!!
