Life's Unexpected Gifts and Blessings...

It was May 2006. I went to the dance studio to return phone calls for summer dance registration. At this time, I was pregnant (with Veronica) and was narrowing down girl names...it was down to two - Avah or Hadley (if you don't know how she ended up being a Veronica, ask me later). I returned a call to a lady named Tami interested in dance lessons for her 3 year old and her answering machine picked up..."You've reached the of Tami, Lance, ISABELLA, and AVA"!!! Well that settled it right there...there was already a family in town with an Isabella and an Ava:) I couldn't believe my ears:) Fast forward two years and you'll see this photo our family with Tami, Lance, Bella, and Ava at the pumpkin patch this past weekend:) God is good.
I was drawn to Tami from the start...there was something about her. And she was SO INCREDIBLY NICE and SWEET...always taking the time to tell me what a beautiful pregnant person I was, etc...
I started out as her daughter's dance teacher and than we'd often run into each other (always at Happy Joes...ha ha ha Tami...that was always so crazy:) at lunch or open gymnastics, or family events in the community.
As time passed I was more and more drawn to Tami and felt this call on my heart to further our friendship. We were planning our holiday service project party last December and I had this huge yearning in my heart to ask Tami and her family to be a part of it, but didn't know if it was appropriate or not...I struggled.
Than holiday dance recital week came and I was at our studio xmas party following the final show. I see Tami and her daughter Bella rushing in with a beautiful bouquet of roses, apologizing profusely for crashing in on my free time but that they hadn't been able to catch me after the show and Bella was determined to get the flowers to me. So silly for apologizing, that Tami:) I was overwhelmed with their kindness and I sat at home staring at those flowers and jumped on my computer and told her all about the service project party we were having, the tugging and call I had on my heart to have her family as part of it, etc...
And the rest, more or less, is history:) The Knudson's are part of this beautiful village of families we are surrounded by, supporting and loving one another as we raise our children. And hey, forget the kids, we just love hanging out with Lance and Tami:) If you opened Tami up, I am convinced that you would truly find a heart of gold inside of her. I cherish our conversations and the pure and honest way in which we share all that is on our hearts.
I am always overwhelmed with thanks and gratefulness for the way in which God winds the path we are traveling on and intertwines our lives and journeys together in the most beautiful and amazing way:)
Thanks for blessing our life Knudson's...the 'Handsome' family loves you very much:)
